The Urantian Experiment

In 1990 I came across The Urantia Book in Aquarian Bookshop in Brisbane. However, since it was over 2000 pages thick, I didn’t purchase it. Having read “Confession of a Rebel Angel” and subsequent books by Timothy Wyllie, I downloaded the Kindle version of The Urantia Book for my reference.

The exact circumstances of the origin of The Urantia Book are unknown. The book and its publishers do not name a human author. Instead, it is written as if directly presented by numerous celestial beings appointed to the task of providing an “epochal” religious revelation.

It is approximately 2000 pages long, comprises of 196 ‘papers’ divided into four parts;

• Part I: The Central and Superuniverses (31 papers)
• Part II: The Local Universe (25 papers)
• Part III: The History of Urantia (63 papers)
• Part IV: The Life and Teachings of Jesus (77 papers)

There is a lot of criticism about The Urantia Book, and some even consider it as a hoax. I can understand that since our common way of thinking believes in one objective reality. However, when we are aware of the existence of so many Social Memory Complexes (SMCs) sharing this planet, whereas each SMC is fully sovereign, then all the contradictions become obvious. Another factor to consider is that memory is nothing but stored impressions or perceptions, which is interactions between the subject who perceives and the object that is perceived. Since every perception is subjective whereas no two subjects are identical, some variations and differences are to be expected, even within an SMC.

In addition to the above, the way The Rebel Angel series was written is by ‘blending’ two or more type of memories. One is the conscious memory of the writer (Timothy Wyllie) and the second is of Georgia – The Rebel Angel, which is “time-independent”. The third to be considered is the memory of the reader, which determine the impression or perceptions either is in resonance or dissonance with what is read.

Based on my experience with OCM (my 5^th D SELF), who never override my own thinking, it is like trying to coordinate our left and right brain hemisphere to work together, whereas the left brain is more factual, critical and sequential, while the right brain is receiving the intuitions “all at once” (time-independent). At times this creates difficulties in our effort to be as accurate as possible.

The reality as expressed in The Urantia Book will resonate mainly to those belonging to the Urantian SMC while others (like myself) might learn from their reality and experiences. And from browsing only small fractions of the 2000 pages, I found quite substantial similarities. However, the most interesting case, as I mentioned in the previous chapter, is the sending out the Planetary Prince Caligastia with his 100 staff, leaving their Atman (Thought Adjuster) behind.

The following passage from paper 66:0.2 shows that The Urantians are not alone on this planet:

“[66:0.2] About five hundred thousand years ago and concurrent with the appearance of the six coloured or Sangik races, Caligastia, the Planetary Prince, arrived on Urantia. There were almost one-half billion primitive human beings on earth at the time of the Prince’s arrival, and they were well scattered over Europe, Asia, and Africa. The Prince’s headquarters, established in Mesopotamia, was at about the centre of the world population[1].”

From “Confession of a Rebel Angel”, Georgia added some information about that 100 strong Caligastia delegation, who came to Urantia/Earth;

“Those chosen for the mission were wonderfully intelligent, superbly trained, and each had the conscious memory of seven “lifetimes” behind them. They would have become aware of the Indwelling God and the Father Spirit during their ascension process and from their time spent in the System Capital, so it was a matter of some surprise to be informed they’d be leaving their Atmans behind. They were all reassured that they would be reunited with their individual Atmans on the completion of their mission. I realise this might sound strange to contemporary ears because for most humans the concept of being indwelt by God is not a familiar, or an experiential, reality. Most people appear to go about their entire lives without any awareness of the indwelling God, and organised religion, on the whole, emphasises God as “being out there somewhere.” Yet for us angels, as well as for some of the simpler of a world’s intelligent creatures, even if we can’t perceive the Atman, we can feel Its Presence within humans[2].”

The word “Atman” chosen by Timothy Wyllie/Georgia instead of “Thought Adjuster” as originally used in Urantia Book, gives me a much easier and direct understanding of what is happening. Out of curiosity I read paper 107, 108, 109, 110 and 111, a very elaborate description about Thought Adjuster and prefer to stick with the simple word “Atman” as I understood it from the Vedic and Theosophical teachings.

Those who prefer to know about the details, I would recommend the 2000 pages Urantia Book[3]. However, I find “Confessions of a Rebel Angel”, is much easier for me to follow.

When the Lucifer Rebellion broke out 203,000 years ago, the 100 Caligastia staffs split into two groups. About 60 supported Caligastia aligning with Lucifer and 40 including Vanu, the leader, decided to remain faithful to the old way.

Caligastia built his empire around the Persian Gulf, Mesopotamia, Mediterranean and North Africa and declared himself as God of the planet, while Vanu and his followers are forced to move away and further away and finally established a settlement in the mountains close to India border. Shortly after that, all thirty-nine staff who had remained with Vanu were quietly returned to Jerusem[4] to be reunited with their Atman. Their job was over.

However, Vanu and his right-hand advisor, one of the modified mortals named Amadon, had remained on-planet, together with as many as two hundred of their followers. They had apparently declared their determination to keep MA’s light alive in the world in spite of the disruption of the rebellion.

Millennia have passed; despite Caligastia’s constant threat Vanu has expanded his territory and reached The Land of Mu – Lemuria in the Pacific. It was fortunate for Vanu that Caligastia had been preoccupied with the constant hostilities that had arisen between the various kingdoms within his empire.

As Georgia came back from Zandana[5], she observes that

“Caligastia’s vast domain, covering most of the Middle East, west across North Africa to the Atlantic, and stretching east to the northern border of Persia had been devastated. Much of the fertile land along the North African coast had become desert. Stretches of sandy landscape appeared as if turned to glass, which flashed and glistened in the harsh sunlight. From Africa’s West Coast, in a vast swath of territory all the way across the continent to the Nile River, I didn’t see one living creature. The jungle and the thickly forested regions to the east were disappearing into a dirty brown smudge. The small clearings in the jungle that once held villages and their plantings stood out from the carbonized surroundings as new growth was just starting to poke its way through the burned dirt.

Even the Eastern Empire showed signs of desertification, especially toward the eastern end of the coast of the Mediterranean—regions now known as Syria, Jordan, and Turkey to the north. Before I left for Zandana, I knew that nuclear weapons were being developed in the laboratories of both hostile empires. What I was observing now was evidently the result of this death-oriented madness[6].” 

In the next book “Revolt of the Rebel Angels” Georgia reported about the Lemurian Territories on the Pacific;

“In contrast to Caligastia’s devastated empires throughout the Middle East and North Africa, the Lemurian territories on the Pacific islands of Mu represented a real chance for the human race to flourish. For Vanu and Amadon, it was an opportunity to start fresh, with none of the weight of the planet’s unfortunate history bearing down on them. I call them Lemurian “territories” for lack of a better name. For a long time, there was no emphasis on royalty, so Lemuria can’t be called a kingdom, and I hesitate to call it an empire, as that suggests domination. Yet Lemuria was much more than a mere territory and more practical than a realm. In a sense, Lemuria was closer to a state of consciousness and a shared way of life than a territory per se. Mu could also be thought of as a theocracy, although it was nothing like what passes for a theocracy in the twenty-first century because for the Lemurians the spiritual life was authentically of paramount importance. They were not competitive or warlike, nor did they envy one another, since they all relied on their own inner guidance. They were, in common parlance, all in touch with their higher selves. And their higher selves were all broadly in touch with one another[7].”

On a parallel dimension, below is a citation of a conversation between Enki and Nanaea of The Nibiruan SMC, taken from The Annunaki Earth Council Website[8]:

“Enki: “Nanaea. They are Lemurian’s. The ones you see now are the leaders. Lemuria exists but in a different dimension. Just the same as Atlantis. The Lemurian’s come from a different universe to ours; a much more ancient universe. They are so evolved spiritually that you see them as holograms. They are nearly spirit only though they do have bodies. They are here to send their frequencies along with ours. They are working with us to help Earth and humanity. They are the elders, and you must respect them, Nanaea.”

Just a few days prior to finding the above quote, in early October 2013, I stumbled upon The Anunnaki Earth Council Website operated by Theophilos Christophorou & Helen Demetriou in Cyprus, as Official Representatives of Marduk and Inanna on Earth. Irritated by their attitude still saying such as “I am your God”, I confronted them by asking what they want to do here on the planet at this point-in-time with that kind of attitude? As a response, I had a freak hailstorm with ice crystals as big as tennis balls directed exactly on my property (purple circle within the green arrowhead).

Back to the Western Hemisphere – The Atlantic, I was guided to find two books “A Dweller on Two Planets” and “An Earth Dweller’s Return” by Phylos[9] – The Thibetan. Below are some passages from “An Earth Dweller Return” that I found very interesting:

“The Ruling Unseen Powers – A prologue:

There are many Powers that rule the Earth, both seen and unseen. Some of these Powers rule over the people by their own vote, and many times it is difficult for the people to overthrow the Power for which they voted. This is a problem which only time and common sense will solve.

There are other Powers to which the attention is called, and for which they have not voted, but which rules, more or less, and sometimes with an iron hand. These Powers are more than a dozen in number and are Unseen, yet they sway the people of the Earth now, just as they did in the old Atlantean time, twelve thousand years ago. . . . .

Militarism has ruled for ages. The people, as a race upon the Earth, have never been free from its rule. This phase of the Ninth Unseen Power has a brother that edges him on – Commercialism. These two have aided each other time out of mind. In this war upon humanity, these two are furthered by the third in this triplicity of evil – Mentalism.  . . . .

Militarism, Commercialism and Mentalism are three phases of the Ninth Unseen Power. Two of these phases are bad enough, but they cannot be improved as to harmlessness unless they are annihilated. Mentalism is not at its worst, and there are degrees of Mentalism which can be used to great advantage, doing good in the world. There is nothing that cannot be accomplished with some of these degrees of Mentalism, but to accomplish a good thing with some of them, one must possess a certain mental characteristic and its spiritual prototype.

Few there are among the thinkers and doers of this world possess this mental characteristic, with its physical counterpart and its spiritual prototype. Great libraries of books have been written in vain hope to reveal this great truth, the writers scarcely knowing themselves of this Pearl of Great Price and how the precious jewel could be found. All they know was that it could not be found by digging anywhere, but they could not tell why. . . . .

America is now peopled by the old Atlantean and Lemurian Races, and as such, is rediscovering the inventions and secret powers of the ancient world. Atlantis is known as the lost world. Why? Because in its evolution of mind, it developed Mentalism to an unrestrainable and menacing viewpoint and used this phase of the Ninth Unseen Power for the annihilation of life.”[10]
